1 Ken Schrader, one of America’s favorite race car drivers, will be running his dirt car throughout the United States in 2017.  Schrader may also run select ARCA and NASCAR races in 2017.

Schrader’s ARCA team, located in Concord, North Carolina, will compete in all 20 ARCA Series Presented by Menards races this season.  New to the KSR racing program is driver Austin Theriault, from Fort Kent, Maine.  Theriault has experience within the ARCA and NASCAR ranks and has one ARCA win to his credit.

Throughout his motorsports career Schrader has driven almost every kind of race car – late models, modifieds, sports cars, sprint cars, Indy cars, and stock cars.  Starting in his teens, Schrader has driven race cars for the past four decades.  As one of the sport’s legendary drivers, he has served in many other roles including car owner, race track promoter, spotter, radio and TV commentator and author.  Schrader spent the last 30 seasons behind the wheel in NASCAR’s elite Cup Series, before retiring in November 2013 at Miami-Homestead Speedway.

Schrader has traveled extensively throughout the United States serving as a spokesman both on and off the track for Federated Auto Parts.  During his 18-year tenure as spokesman and driver, Schrader has met numerous Federated members and customers while making store visits, hosting corporate programs, speaking at meetings and of course, driving his Federated Auto Parts modified race car as often as possible.  Last year he competed in 70 races and plans to match that in 2017.  The business of racing keeps Schrader on the road more than 100 days every year.

“We have a great time combining all of the elements of sponsorship, partnership and friendship,” Schrader said. “The Federated Auto Parts brand is a highly respected member within the auto parts industry and I am proud to represent that brand.  We have made countless friends and business associates along the way.  I hope to continue on that path this season and look forward to getting started!”

“Racing has been a lifelong pursuit for me,” Schrader said. “My sponsors, family, team and friends have all made it possible for me to continue doing what I love. It has been very gratifying for me to race against some of the best in the business, to make friends along the way and to take in all the United States has to offer.”
